Tire Recycling Atlantic Canada Corporation (TRACC) recycles scrap tires into rubber products, including playground surfaces, safety pylon delineator bases, and high-traffic and anti-fatigue mats. The playground products are available in four UV-resistant colors and the black delineator bases are made from solid rubber. TRACC has been recycling scrap tires since 1997, processing the equivalent of 1,000,000 passenger tires per year in its Minto, New Brunswick plant.

RubberForm Recycled Products makes sign bases and parking lot wheel stops from 100% recycled tire rubber. Their sign base is conical so it can be rolled easily on its base, yet has a low center of gravity and weighs 70 pounds so it will withstand high winds. These bases are available in 2 3/8” diameter round hole and 1 ¾ “ square hole models in black, red, or gray. RubberForm’s wheel stops come with yellow, blue, or white reflective strips and are resistant to elevated temperature, UV light, oil, and moisture. They include five mooring holes and are flexible, allowing anchoring on a variety of surfaces. According to the company, each of their wheel stops diverts three to four tires from the landfill. RubberForm uses regionally sourced scrap tires in manufacturing products at their facility in New York.

Litchfield Industries manufactures parking stops, speed bumps, and bollards made from 100% post-consumer plastic. Parking stops are 3', 4', or 6' long and are available in yellow, blue, white, gray, and black. Speed bumps are 3', 6', or 9' long and yellow in color.

Recycled Plastic Factory manufactures parking stops, speed bumps, and bollards from 100% post-consumer recycled plastics (primarily HDPE). According to the company, it sources its plastic from milk jugs, detergent bottles, plastic bags and flower pots.

North West Rubber Products offers Street Smart Traffic Control Units—portable traffic delineators with 100% recycled-tire rubber bases. The company offers square and octagonal bases, which come without posts.

TAPCO distributes parking control devices made from recycled plastic and rubber, such as wheel stops, bollard covers, speed bumps, and speed humps. Of TAPCO’s several dozen parking control products with recycled content, almost 10 are 100% recycled, and the remainder contain a portion of recycled material.

Inteq produces a number of traffic and parking accoutrements. Their Parking Stops and Speed Bumps are made from 100% post-consumer recycled HDPE plastic; speed bumps are yellow, and parking stops are yellow, white, gray, black, or blue. They also produce traffic cones and safety delineators with bases of 100% post-consumer rubber or PVC; tops are made from virgin vinyl to maintain proper safety color. Inteq's A-Frame Barricades are made from 100% post-consumer recycled HDPE in 4' to 16' lengths. Highway Barrels are made from virgin LDPE to maintain safety color, but the barrels' ballasts contain recycled truck-tire rubber. The recycled-content levels for Highway Barrels (by weight) is 80-85% post-consumer material. Type I, II, and III Barriers are made from 75% post-consumer recycled HDPE plastic.

Barco Products offers site furnishings, landscape timbers, and traffic devices made with recycled content. 100% recycled tire rubber speed bumps and 100% recycled plastic speed bumps are offered, and colored wheel stops made of 95% recycled commingled HDPE and LDPE. Gray wheel stops contain 85% recycled PVC. Bollards are made from 96% recycled commingled LDPE and HDPE (50 to 80% pre-consumer). Also available are dozens of styles of picnic tables and park benches made with recycled commingled HDPE and LDPE averaging 40% post-consumer, as well as planters and waste receptacles made from recycled HDPE (90 to 100% post-consumer).

Amazing Recycled Products manufactures parking stops as well as flat-top, plateau-top, and chamfered-top bollards (also available customized) from recycled HDPE. The parking stops are 6'–8' long and are offered as industrial heavy duty and standard. Custom lengths are also available. Colors include brown, yellow, gray, blue, white and black.

FlexStake Highway Safety Products include various traffic delineators and markers made from over 50% post-consumer recycled plastics. Flexstake products will withstand 75 crash impacts at 55 mph and 1000 low speed run-overs by trucks weighing 35 tons, according to the manufacturer.
