Each the size of a standard concrete masonry unit, 16”x8” Smart Vents are installed in a building’s foundation, where they relieve hydrostatic pressure by automatically swinging open when floodwaters rise. The dual-function Smart Vent includes louvers for air ventilation of crawlspaces; a bimetallic coil (requiring no electricity) causes the louvers to open in warm weather and close in cooler air. An insulated Flood Vent model is suited for cold-climate buildings. Smart Vent installs with four included stainless steel straps. It is available in black, gray, wheat, and white enamel powder coatings, and custom color matching is available.

Savannah Trims offers lightweight aluminum flood panels (up to 60% lighter than steel flood panels) that can be installed in doorways and other areas where flood protection is needed, and easily removed. Savannah Trims offers other flood-protection products, including glass storefront glazing designed to withstand flood waters.

FloodBreak AutoGates are passive flood mitigation systems for pedestrian or vehicle entrances, loading docks, parking garages, tunnels, vents, or levee crossings. AutoGates are available in multiple styles that can be built to specific height and length requirements. The fully automatic barrier system is unaffected by power failure and deploys without human intervention, triggered by hydrostatic pressure created by rising water. When the water recedes, the barrier returns to its underground location. The Vehicle Gate protects garage ramps, loading docks, and driveways from street-level flooding; the Roadway Gate spans entire roads and is intended for levee areas where roads would otherwise need to be raised above flood levels. The Pedestrian Gate protects walkways and entrances, and can be customized to match the surrounding surface; the Vent Shaft System fits under street-level grating to protect underground spaces. FloodBreak also manufactures a swing gate and drop-in panel for doorways and vents.

Axion manufactures structural beams and pilings using recycled plastic. The company uses both post- and pre-consumer plastics as well as glass in proprietary processes that blend these normally disparate materials into rigid I-beams for structural use and pilings for railroad or marine applications. I-beams are available in lengths from 18 to over 40 feet. According to the company the thermoplastic is inert and rot-, rust-, and corrosion-free, and it undergoes minimal UV degradation. Axion is not yet listed by the International Code Council.

Carmanah offers solar-powered LED lighting for roadway, industrial, marine, aviation, railway, and other transit applications, including pedestrian and hazard flashers, marine navigation lights, runway lights, and bus shelter lighting kits. Carmanah's Solar LED Lighting Group has more than 100,000 solar-powered LED lighting installations in 110 countries. The company also offers solar power systems.

PlasTEAK is made with 100% post-consumer recycled HDPE in a paraffin base—the boards become more slip-resistant when wet. Boatboard extruded HDPE panels meet the requirements of marine and outdoor environments. Limarpa is a lightweight alternative to plywood, also appropriate for marine use. PlasTEAK also makes UV-stabilized, 1' x 4' x 1.25"-thick, recycled-plastic grates for such applications as boardwalks, dune walkovers, nature walks, and floating docks; these grates provide 40% light and visual penetration for such uses as boardwalks, dune walkovers, and nature walks. Trim and lumber goods are available as well.

Schuyler Rubber manufactures dock bumpers and marine fenders of 100% recycled bias ply and radial bus and truck tire casings. Schuyler's product line includes sizes and types of marine fenders to suit most applications.

Plastic Lumber Yard, LLC, manufactures recycled-plastic lumber. The Forever Deck and ForeverDock Floating Dock Kits are constructed with recycled plastic lumber made from 100% recycled HDPE. Landscape grade plastic lumber in various profiles and colors is also available.

Plastic Piles and Plastic Timber are made from 100% recycled plastic with fiberglass reinforcement, providing an alternative to large pressure-treated marine pilings and timbers. Plastic Piles and Plastic Timber contain UV inhibitors and are impervious to marine borers.

Recycled Plastic Factory manufactures extruded plastic lumber and marine-quality pilings from commingled, recycled HDPE in a variety of profiles and colors.

Trimax Decking consists of decking, rail, and stair parts containing 90% post-consumer HDPE by weight. Decking lumber and stair treads are also available in a knurled, nonskid finish. Trimax structural lumber and marine pilings contains 90% recycled material by weight, including post-consumer recycled HDPE (65%) and post-industrial recycled fiberglass. Trimax Structural Lumber comes in gray, and is available by special order in green, tan, redwood, and white; pilings come in gray and are available by special order in light gray, green, tan, redwood, and white.
